Why does the media write or say things differently, then the person's original response.

For example, headline : "Jennifer Garner in love with another man!" and then a few lines later, we find out that the other man is her father. Why the hell couldn't you have written that in the FIRST few lines or hell, not at all?

Would it have killed you to not kill suspense, where there was none to being?


Am I being an asshole, or simply stating the truth?

The truth.


The media likes to fuck with a lot of things and God help me if I ever become successful enough to be considered a Pap dessert. Because if that happens, I'm going to have to shut down all of these blogs, change all my user names to have the exact email address, make sure that my friends don't sell my real email and use that and my countless other usernames to say my speech without getting screwed.

There seems to be a BIG thing on the Brad and Angelina Jolie having more babies. But as much as people are fauning over them, what would happen if they were black and having more kids? If Brad left and it was only Angelina to take care of the kids. Would you and others faun over them and buy the magazines? Or would you scoff and complain about another single mother getting knocked up?

School dealings

Here is what I wrote to the UWM POST online journal.

*Back story: SUFC members are the majority group in Student Association & they have been running UW-Milwaukee since about. . . 4 or 5 years ago. They did some shady things, such as try to make it possible for the SA to sue anyone who talks against the group. The president vetoed it thankfully, but they recently tried to get us to not vote for the UC or for ASAP ( another group who were voting against them). SUFC got ASAP voted off which you can read right here. After ASAP was voted off, SUFC then tried and apparently succeeded in getting the UC off the campus. United Council is student organization that tries to make sure that all the University of Wisconsin schools are having the students speak. Read here. Anyway, this post that I made was after reading some comments that basically called people stupid assholes, and other words. Here's my response, no apologies.*

The biggest problem that I've had, since coming to this school has been from the SA. I transferred from Alverno, and as much as I've complained about the all women thing, I can give it credit for something that UWM greatly lacks- time management and compassion. Why is it that I received emails to vote NO for UC and vote for SUFC the day of the voting? At Alverno the entire campus was given warning about when things were to take place and we could plan ahead. How in the hell can the Student Association, or even other groups, expect THE PEOPLE, to come out and have their voices heard, when you purposefully withhold information?

And I was very disgusted with the posters of why people shouldn't voted for the UC. The posters that the anti-UC group talked about how we needed to save the 4 dollars to help the groups, how our money was going to pay the UC's director's school loans ( Which I believe would have been slander because it was untrue), and talked without having any actual facts to it. A woman actually hounded my friend to vote no, because as she said," The 4 dollars could have gone to your LGBT center, links and women's resource center." Which struck me as odd, because SUFC could have easily not cut funds to any of these groups, but that is not my main complaint. My main complaint with that election was the fact that the anti-UC group used scare tactics and it worked. As one of the big UW schools, we the students, should have more say in how things should be run in this school. I am not taking out loans for 10 grand a year, to have someone tell me how I should feel and react as a student. I am not paying these segregation fees, TO NOT BE able to go to conferences and say, "I'm a Junior in college and I'm taking out loans because Mommy and Daddy aren't paying for me." I am an actual student and damn it, I deserve to be heard.

This is my first post in this blog and it was all started after reading about female actresses who have shied away from being called a feminist. They said, "I believe in rights for everyone" or "You don't see menists around." I saw two things wrong with their views. The first being that the former response is what feminism is. It's the stance of saying, hey men & women will get equal pay for the same job. It's saying, "We in the film industry are going to write better film roles for women that aren't either sex vixen, virgin or mother. (Upon looking up the definition of feminism, I got this from website: Feminism-the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes.)

Secondly, I don't know if they meant the manist excuse as a joke, however I feel that's something shouldn't be taken for granted. Looking at the majority of a group of people, there are those who will say that it's unfair to have a minority have a thing that celebrates their uniqueness. (Whether it's being black, LGBT, a woman or etc.) As someone who is part of all three minority groups, I feel that the reasons for the channels (such as BET *shudders*, and Logo) or even magazines is to empower the group that is being underrepresented.

If one were to click on their television or go to the movie theatre, what majority would you see? And if you were to write down each character you saw, how many times would that character be a stereotype? For LGBT we're lisping men, angry lesbians who want children, crazy bisexuals who are confused and tranny's who are just there for laughs. Or let's look at the role of what women who are people of color. We have the submissive Asian woman, the hot, tempting Latina OR the loudmouthed, usually big, black woman.

Let's face it, people are making these groups to vent and try to create a more balanced version of how they see things versus someone else telling them what they see.

That's why we are trying to have a voice.
